Hi, I'm Joanne Makas...
I am a multifaceted artist, intuitive energy guide, Feminine Embodiment Facilitator and Creativity Mentor. I get excited when I see heart-led visionary women step into their creative power, make bold decisions and share their magic with the world.
As a Feminine Embodiment Facilitator and Creativity Mentor, I can support you to create space for making decisions that may be holding you back from sprinkling your magic into the world.

I really enjoyed participating weekly in the Embodied workshops with Jo. I was feeling a bit burnt out from life in general after Covid. She provided tools and strategies to become more aware of our relationship to the natural world, to trigger and interpret our responses. This provided a new and fresh way to see my creative practise, while energising me throughout the day. I highly recommend trying them if you want a fresh perspective to approach life from, and a wonderful and supportive facilitator. Thank you for holding space for me Jo.
I didn’t really have any expectations from the session but came out of it feeling rejuvenated and calm. I don’t think I realised just how stressed and under pressure I have been feeling and you gently helped me unravel a few things that I have clearly been avoiding. I started journalling last night, which is something I have been intending to do but just haven’t been able to start due to what have been clear blockages. I feel that your gentle, open approach is calming, allowing for a feeling of security and willingness to just let go and allow any inhibitions or doubts about the process fade away.
Jo provides a safe, well lit and comfortable environment for the session. Her down-to-earth demeanor quickly makes you feel relaxed and ready to start. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I realised that this was going to be a very interesting ride. The room was filled with an array of beautiful instruments which Jo used during the session. I was surprised to experience different physical sensations on my skin from the sounds created, I must say it was quite mind blowing. By the end of the hour I felt as if I had been 'washed, rinsed and dried' (in a good way). This was an unbelievable experience and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wishing to have 'therapy' without having to talk. I'm looking forward to my next session with Jo.

What is the AWAKEN embodied creativity workshop about?
AWAKEN is a transformative workshop hosted by me, Joanne Makas, combining heart-centered chakradance, expressive drawing, and an alchemy crystal sound bowl journey. It's designed to help you embrace your creativity, awaken your curiosity and connect with your inner magic.
Who is Awaken for?
AWAKEN is for anyone seeking to connect with their inner selves and experience the magic of their own creativity. Whether you're new to these practices or experienced, the workshop offers a safe and playful space for personal growth.
What is chakradance?
Chakradance is unique because it uses spontaneous dance for the purpose of healing and self discovery with the aim to free energetic blockages in the system. Through Chakradance you can improve your whole state of being - emotionally, physically and spiritually. Plus, there's no right or wrong way to Chakradance.
What is expressive drawing?
Expressive drawing is a style of drawing that emphasizes line and mark rather than rendering a specific object. It is an intuitive and abstract response to sensations and feelings that are present. The wonderful thing with expressive drawing is that it is unpredictable, because it's an adventure.
Do I need to have any prior experience in dance or art?
Not at all! Awaken is designed for all levels of experience. I create a welcoming environment where you can freely express yourself, regardless of your background in dance or art.
What is an Alchemy Crystal Sound Bowl Journey?
It is a sound bath consisting of alchemy crystal singing bowls. A sound Bath is a powerful form of sound therapy, achieved through the emission of high vibrational frequencies, meant to guide the mind, body, and soul into deep relaxation, where healing can take place wherever necessary. It is made even more potent when combined with alchemy crystal bowls. These crystal singing bowls are made of the highest quality (99.992% pure) quartz crystal, making them incredibly resonant. The humming sounds are heard by the ear and felt through the body, affecting your energy centers (chakras) for healing, balancing & meditation.
* During the sound bath you may experience an emotional release, accompanied by physical sensations like waves of cold and warmth, tingling, lightness and openness.
What should I bring to the workshop?
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement. Bring a yoga mat, water, a journal and pen, and a blanket with an eye mask. All art materials are provided, and you just need to bring your magical self!
Can I attend if I'm not familiar with spirituality or energy work?
Absolutely! This embodied creativity practice is designed to be inclusive, whether you're new to spirituality or have experience in energy work. Awaken is a journey of self-expression and connection, accessible to everyone.
